The Acai (Ah-Sigh-ee) is a berry is a fruit that is grown on the acai palm tree in the Amazon rain forests of South America, more commonly; Brazil. The Berry is dark purple in color and about the size of a grape. Acai Berries are extremely rich in vitamins as well as nutrients. South American natives of the Amazon regions have made this Acai berry a large part of their diet for hundreds of years. The acai berry has been sweeping the world as part of the every growing acai diet plan.

Over 10% of the berry has edible pulp and skin and the remaining portion is the seed or pit. Most of the nutrients come from the pulp and skin while the seed is normally not eaten. The fruit is most often described as a shocking mix of berries & chocolate.
